In many eastern beliefs the mandala represents the universe either as a whole or as it pertains to your own personal existence. This design is a contemporary interpretation of the central sixteen (16) pointed medallion of the Ardibil Carpet (Victoria and Albert Museum) and is reminiscent of Scandinavian or Pennsylvania Dutch (German) designs thus providing reference to the “world of rugs” as it pertains to Red Spruce,
